    OBDII HELP

    I HAVE A 95 GALANT....BUT FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, 94-98 IS THE SAME ELECTRICALLY....RIGHT, SO WILL THIS WORK ON MY 95 EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS 96 AND UP....THANKS

    Im not sure if all 7gs were OBDII, I know 94/95 were mostly OBDI but Im not 100% sure. Check out www.pocketlogger.com. If you want a diagnostic scanner and logger, go with that, its probably a lot better then that one on eBay.

    Check your diagnostic plug, I know that OBDI and OBDII plugs look different, at least they are in my Talon and Galant.

    my 95 had an OBDII plug but the ecu was OBDI, i bought a scan tool and wandered why it wouldnt comunicate with my car. im pretty sure most 95s are like this. the eclipse on the other hand in 95 was OBDII

    the 94 95 glants has a sort of trans obd2. its standard obd1 format, has the trapezoidal obd2 plug, and is a bit more advanced than obd1 such as front and rear o2's and oxygen sensor heater check engine lights and so forth.
    i'm just getting a obd1 logging software, and a obd2 cable, and if i have to relocate the one wire to make it at the right pin for the data transfer select terminal, then thats what i'll have to do.
