    Prototype Car PC

Here are a few pics of my prototype car pc project, The cpu is a old Pentiup 2 overclocked and what not with an old ASUS motherboard.
Onboard sound with old VooDoo3 video card, wireless card,6 usb ports, and gps. Im using a Xenarc 7in VGA Touchscreen for my monitor and 2 Maxtor 40 Gig HHDs. Check it out!!

Like I said its just a prototype, I have to make a custom case to go with my new motherboard and custom made power supply. So far it works good as hell, voice recognition and what not makes switching from movies to gps to music to internet a breeze.

Will keep you guys posted and have more pics soon.

I put together a PC for my friends car. I made a plexiglass case for it as well. Wasnt too hard, hardest part was cutting the plexiglass smooth. I will see if I can find some pictures. It was a pretty small case, big enough for a micro-atx board, psu, and hd. We put a USB CD/DVDrom up front in his dash.

after installing the carputer, what do you do about turnning the thing on and off? does it turn off with the car, or does it stay on and you have to turn it off by shutting windows down? Just wondering... Thanks.

Im getting a custom made power supply that switches on when power is on and stays goes off after the key is removed(give the comp time to shut down)
