Donor G for my 5 speed swap, what can i use from her???

    Ladies and Gents

I got my hands on a G that was wrecked in the rear I got her for $500 dollars for the whole car, she is a 5 speed model and I was wondering what else other than the logical parts needed for the swap will I need from her?? Example do I stay with the same radiator or do I swap it with the manual G radiator???

Also will it be better to get a new slave cylinder or stay with the same one??

Do I get a new flywheel or do I stay with the same one???

Guys tell me what yall think?

I think you should read the 5spd swap, seriously...

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(seth98esT)</div><div class='quotemain'>Parts you need:

    7g/2g turbo 5spd transmission
7g/2g turbo rear 5spd transmission perch
    7bolt Flywheel
    Clutch/Pressure plate
    Clutch master cylinder
    Clucth slave cylinder
    Clutch hydrolic line
    Clutch line
    Shifter assembley
    Shifter cables
    Shifter cable bracket
4 metal clips to hold the shifter cables to the bracket and to the shifter assembly
    5spd Brake pedal assembly
    5spd Clutch pedal assembly

Thats pretty Â*much the parts list ladies and gents. Â*The place fo the master cylinder is market, just cut the holes out and bolt it up. Â*Everything else just replaces the Auto stuff. Â*You might need to wire up a relay for to be able to start the car, I am not sure. Â*I know 4g64terror did something like that. Â*Anywho here is his pics:

(No you do not have to pull your motor, just drop the tranny stright down and jack the new one up)</div>

I know these are all the things needed...................
let me rephrase the question, what parts from the donor car should I buy new instead of getting the old parts from the donor car???

Sorry i didnt make it clear

Maybe the master and slave depending on what condition they are in. Just look them over and judge for yourself.

well the donor car works perfect the engine is working really good its really strong, The only thing i have noticed is sometimes when the car is cold and i try to turn her on the clutch is really soft like its not connected and i just pump it a couple of times and then she gets a little bit harder.

    What can cause that???

also the gauge housing, but while you have it you might check things like te rear brakes, maybe thay are disc, you could get those parts. this would also be a good time to do a front end donversion if it has a different style front.

but as far as the swap, do read the tutorial, because you would see there is no mention of a radiator

I know i dont need the radiator, if you read carefully it states an example.

The donor car is a 7G S model so it doesnt have anything different than my other 7G S model, the only thing thats different is the transmission.

radiator? are you talking about the automatic transmission cooler? i could see someone confusing that for a radiator. a really small one i guess

if you get rear brakes and do the conversion make sure you get the proportioning valve so you get more power sent to the rear brakes. otherwise you won't be able to make the most use of your added stopping potential. but its unlikely that a s model will have rear disc.

and i never read the 5 speed tutorial cause i doidn't have to. but go ahead and grab the armrest from the 5 speed car. it will be padded. allowing for more comfort while you rest your arm between shifts.

Actually my auto armrest was more padded. But it was too tall, the 5spd console is a lot shorter making for more room to shift.

nah i didn't have to read it cause my car was already 5 speed. lol

okay peano i printed out your tutorial and took it to my think tank and trust me it made for very good reading. works better than FiberCon :fingers:
    lol.
nah your tutorial has helped a lot of people. Makes me wish i would have done a few for some of the less popular mods to let people know just how much potential these cars have, and just how easy it is to make them fast if you want to.
oh yeah, and there would be a lot less questions too.
Thats why i love vfaq.com so manyu fun things to do and so many questions answered. maybe we should get more tutorials going.
like gauge installs, and other fun stuff like bushings.[/LIST]

on my 94 es auto the armrest was solid. on the GS 5 speed it has padding inside it and was slightly shorter

Anyone can point out where the ball-joint separator between the axle and the tranny and pry it out.
