    Valve cover

    Hey quick question guys

Im sure its been answered i searched but didnt find much..

i dont know much about the v6 engine but recently got a 2000 ES V6

When i looked under the hood it says Mitsubishi 24V V6

I seen most on here say 3.0L 24 Valve V6

prolly nothing but just curious if the engine is different or just the valve cover or did i get a shity engine that was release pre- 01!

    any answers be appreciated.

There are actually 2 different valve covers - one that says "Mitsubishi 24V V6" as yours is, which I believe is for 99-01(?), with 02(?)-03 engines having "3.0L V6 24 VALVE".

If I recall correctly, the change in valve cover was mainly to keep it generic for production purposes as the same 6G72 engine was also being used for the Dodge Stratus R/T.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(gtx)</div><div class='quotemain'>Well, mine is a '01 GTZ saying 3.0L V6 24 VALVE ...</div>

It's the 99-00 has the Mitsu V6 logo.
01-03 they changed it as a universal application (e.g. Stratus  )
