    What do you guys think

everyone is saying how mitsubishi was in trouble for awhile and what not but does anybody agree with me that the 3g eclipse wasnt the most desirable style? I like the cars interior but the exterior just looks too big . Maybe its just me.

So now the new generations come out and i like the eclipse but this time i dislike the 9g galant style. Again interior is sweet but exterior and overall size isnt my type.

I wonder if mitsubishi was doing real well was when they had the 7g galant and 2g eclipse. A decent lineup.

i think part of the reason we are not liking japanesse styling as much as in the past is because the US has been developing a love for European Styling...ie, Infinity G 35, M 45, Mercedes and even VW.

The public generally goes through stages on what they like. It's up to the different markets to stay alive until their time comes around again.

Mitsubishi sales didn’t start to increase until they made cars that appealed to car buyers in the US and that wasn’t until the 8G Galant and 3G Eclipse.

In old articles they said the 7G Galant wasn’t really a big seller, and kind of got lost in the competition. The 2G Eclipse did well though.

"In the late '90s and early 2000, Mitsubishi was a 'cool' car company," said Gilligan, 61, who replaced Finbarr O'Neill following O'Neill's resignation after only 16 months to join supplier Reynolds & Reynolds.
"We got off track," he said. "We got enamored with volume and put a lot of focus on fleet sales, and that's risky. At the end of the day the product is king. The car has to be the star."

Exactly! That's why it looks like things are finally turning around!

It's funny you say that. Before I bought the Galant, I had no interest in Japanese cars at all. The design was just too boring. Sure I liked the 3KGT but that was pretty much it. The only japan design I always liked was the 8G, and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it has somewhat of a europen style. Now that I respect more japanese cars, I like some of the older ones, but the new ones, ehh I dunno, those bubbles everywhere... maybe I'm just getting older. The same goes to german cars.
