    Anyone Here with GDI engines???

From all that I've been reading it seems that u ppl have mainly V6 engines. I imported my Galant directly from Japan at less than half the cost I would have to pay for it where I live...........the difference however is that the engine is smaller 1834c.c. 4G93 and it's the GDI version, unlike the 2000c.c. locally bought.

Anyway I was wondering whether anyone on this board also has such an engine.........just to know that I'm not alone out here.

Hey lemacfar, bear in mind that it is highly probable that you may get a right hand drive vehicle if imported directly from Japan.
A second hand VR4 Type S 1998 may cost you between US$8000 upwards......freight included....anyway check out this website of an importer here in Trinidad www.crism.com and u could send him an e-mail for info. I believe that they ship to Miami.

Check out this link. Here's your VR4, 1998. $19,900 TTD which is $17,952 USD. Thats to Trinidad. No details of how much to ship to the US. Next question you have to ask is, will it pass US inspection. Could be costlyto make the necessary mods.

Hey Fishboy u got that currency conversion wrong.....
US$1 = TT$6.30(Trinidad, West Indies). I wish I could get a VR4 for TTD19k........more like TTD $105,000 and upwards on the road price, depending on the year and mileage of the vehicle. I got my 99 Galant Exceed for TTD$69,000.

We have many companies here that import used cars from Japan. These cars are just like new.........believe me when I say that......and u very rarely would have any problem with them.

If you need sites to look at in Japan post/e-mail and let me know.

Oops, my bad. Thats $109,900TTD which is $17,952 USD. Thanks for pointing that out Tarantula. Still, thats not a bad price for a VR4. Just depends on how much you'd have to sink into it to make it US legal.

the 1st link had pods for chevy, chrysler, ford, subaru, toyota, and vw, no mitsubishi, the 2nd link had pods for the lightning, and the 3rd link was for eclipses. i don't think they make universal pillar pods.

Hey, have you seen any new Plymouths, for that matter?
Maybe there's a reason they went out of business, didn't sell enough cars over the years.
