Is anyone making a more agressive cam that I can put in my SOHC 64?
Why I got half a mind to...ahhh...never mind I just got half a mind.

without mentioning the more prominent and less dependable manufactures out there. i might suggest you get a regrind cam.
call crane cams or another major camshaft designer/manufacturer and see how much it would be to get your camshaft reground to increase airflow while still keeping an acceptable idle and decent emmissions/ gas mileage.
you could get a core from a junk yard or perhaps online.
thats all i have to say

RPW is the other company DOHCstnr was talking about. But they are one hard company to get products from since they are based in AUS. www.visionimports.com is the only US vendor of RPW parts I believe. Go ahead and give them an email and see if they have anything in stock.

Yeah I went to heir site and aside from the time that it takes to get their stuff delivered, and the prices, what put me off was that in their description they mention that their cams sacrificed low end for high end and mid range, if anything I want the exact opposite sacrifice some high end for low end and mid range.

There has been a lot of negative publicity in the past but in the last year there has been a lot of changes with the RPW product line etc.

Firstly we have the units in stock and can usually get them out within 2 weeks of ordering.

Secondly we now have some new USA dealers andyou can also purchase direct from RPW as well paying via Paypal.

Thirdly, if you are after a camshaft to improve low rpm torque and sacrifice top end, we do custom grinds and can produce a profile to suit any application.

There is a price list that can be downloaded off our website now with prices on all our products.

You shoudl check that out as well.

And with the new freight lines we are using, there are plenty of options now.

By the end of this weekend there will be several new USA dealers as well on our list - one of them I think everyone on the forum knows about nad I beleive you will find that you will be getting some very good services out of him.
Racing Performance Works - Mitsubishi Modifying specialists

You can now buy RPW Parts direct from RPW. Price list available from our website.

Its about time! RPW makes great products, just were hard to get before. If RPW straightens up their act on the USA side, this will mean nothing but good things for you SOHC galant owners!

Thats the bad thing about a SOHC engine, you cant have both. You have to sacrifice something to gain something. With DOHC you can run different profile cams for the intake and exhaust and get whatever type of power range you want.

seems to me that the 2.4's always were lacking in top end. low end torque was never a problem for me. it was the torque dying off early in the midrange adn little top end. when i had the GS engine, it was much better across the board. but i still would have enjoyed more top end in it
