thank you! i have a couple questions.. is there any wiring i have to change? and i did not know what you meant when stating to short out pin 7-8 and 9-10. i am planning on collecting parts starting with my tax return. also there is no changes needed to our stock ecu unless we want to convert to turbo correct? and i just want to gather as much info to make it that much easier.

Shorting out those pins are the wiring changes you need to make.

Anyway, galant 108, most of the info you need is in this thread, you just have to read through it. I think I read this thread like 30 times before even considering doing the swap. And then sometimes you just gotta pop the hood and check out what's going on.

For the wiring, all you need to do is follow the instructions in the pic OMEGA PHX posted, and the ECU will be fine as long as you have a year 99-01 Galant I believe.

01 needs a 00 or 99 ecu swap or a reflash.

best way to do it is dive right in and get it done, i actually did mine without the tutorial, its pretty straight forward, the physical is just as much work as basically changing a clutch to me, and the wiring took only 5 minutes

quick question on the 5spd swap, when using an OEM 3G flywheel we use our oem starter and starter plate and there are no washers or anything that we have to use to space things out right?
