two sets of wheels. I can't decide which would be better.

hey guys. i'm finally going to upgrade from my awsome 15" zen racing wheels. to something a bit bigger. i want to stay in the same style. the Mesh BBS style wheel. so i've narrrowed it down to two choices. i just thought i'd get your guys opinions.they both have 45mm offset so i should be good with both sets.both are on e bay

    the first: ADR M-Sports/ 17x7.5

I'm leaning more twords these, because i was looking for 17s in the first place, because i can still keep a comfortable ride with 17's. and ADR at least has a name in the wheel industry.

the second: ? basic mesh wheels says "leader" on the centercap. 18x7.5

these are one size bigger, a little more expensive, some unknown offbrand, but exactly the style i wanted. while the ADRs are close. this is pretty much exact.

so what do you guys think

i say the 17s. Deeper lip, brand name. Looks like they shine a bit better too

Not to mention the scratches all over the center of the Leader rims

Not to mention people will say "what the fuck is Leader??"

  5. #5
i dont think those are scratches on the "leader" wheels. i think its reflection from the chrome. i just dont want to go 18's because i hear that when you go past 17 it starts to be a really noticible bump in ride quality. also the lips on the 18's just scream "watch the cheep aluminum get bent on a pot hole"

Honestly, I didn't notice any difference in ride when I switched from 17s to 18s. One thing nice about 17s though is that tires are less expensive.

I'd go with ADRs but get 18s

I like the ADR M-Sports, becaues they look like the rims are more open then the others.

both look good, but the first are actually ADR M "CLASSICS" (the m sports are seven split spokes and the classics are ten split spokes) and the second are knock-offs of WORK VS-XX (which are VERY, VERY nice wheels).

i say screw those two wheels and just get bbs lm's. those are the ones you really want, and hey, you only live once.

then i guess you're gonna tell me about how just one LM costs about the same price as a set of those whatever else not as good as the LM's; wheels you posted.

with that said, go with the adr's. go with the brand you know about. then make sure you get them in 18's. run them while the roads are nice, like in the summer, then when it gets cold and the roads are starting to get bad again, slap back on the 15's. that way you worry less about hitting potholes and your tires don't wear down as quickly since you are only using them a few months in the year.

    drop your car too.

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

Yes you'r right! I'm sorry, I was so busy looking at the m-sports that I forgot that yes, they are M classics. and you sir know your wheels. thats why I really wanted the second set, the WORK VS-XX whees are some of my favorites. but they are usualy stagered... with a 4" lip.... and in gold....on a Porsche.... MMMMmmm wheels. but I think I'm going to stick with the M-classics.

Wow, you knew what I was going to say before I said it! I've always loved the BBS LM wheels. Actualy the Volkswagen BBS 337 wheels were what got me in to loving the style. but the LMs are so hot. but I dont have $2000 to spend on wheels. the deal with this is that I told my dad i wanted wheels for christmas. so by the summer I can buy myself tires and a drop. But he was even iffy at $400, so i'm gonna take what i can get. so i think im gonna buy those ADRs tomarrow

as for wheels on the 8G, 18's look great allready, 17's will seem small. 19's and 20's get expensive since the tires run so much more and if you don't get good, hard wheels, you will bend anything over 18 pretty easily. my set of 19's are SUPER HARD (seamless forged multi-piece) but they also cost as much as my car. if you're on a budget get 18's and you won't regret it. stay as close to 18x7.5 +45 225/40r18 as you can and you will b very happy.
