    guage wiring

    the last set of guages i put in the fuse of the guges blew becasue we installed it to the dimmer switch but the guages didn't have an on/off switch. i just bought new ones and this time it has an on/off switch. is it safe this time to connect it to the dimmer switch? if so what wire to wut wire?

    mine came with a switch and all, but i cut it off and wired my guages into the ashtray light

    just take out the center bezel and wire them to the cig lighter light/ash tray light... alot safer IMO

    i connected my gauges to the illumination wire for the radio. If you have an aftermarket radio, (which most likely you do) and used the after market wire harness attachments, one of the wires from that attachemnt is illumination. the load from that wire isn;t going to be to heavy.
