glad to hear you got it running Noel, I knew it had to be that resistor pack. I read thru countless wiring diagrams and thats all i could come up with, given the symptoms you gave me. If your dumping oil that bad, check out the oil pressure sensor on the back of the block to make sure its there, also check to make sure its not coming from the timing cover, if it is, it sounds like the plug that blocks the balance shaft is loose or fell out. Also, are you running an oil cooler? If not, you should be, they are cheap insurance to prevent burning up the oil. hit me up if you need anything.

whew! thank god it wasy only a small plug on the back of the block...i must have not seen it and apparently neither did the guy who did my engine rebuild.

poured some more oil....fired her up..adjusted the idle since it was way too high...let her run for about 5 mins to let everything lube up well.

the fans didnt turn on, no biggie, ill figure that out fast, and i had a small leak on one of the fittings for the oil cooler, again no biggie.

still havent actually driven it. i want to double check everything first. i'll probably drive it in a day or two around the block.

so whoo hooo. it runs. anybody know how to convert quicktime movie file so i can post on here?

    excellent news bro!

if you can't get the stock ecu to run the fans(which i'm sure won't be a problem)
you can alays run the ground for the fan relays to a temperature switch that you can mount anywhere water travels.
then whenever the water reaches a certain temp, the switch ground the circuit, which triggers the realys, and the fans come on automatically.

you can also wire up a toggle switch with a 12 source to the high fan relays.
then whenever you want to override the stock controls(be it for yoru cool down cycle before shutdown, or just while driving in heavy traffic.... you can just hit the switch and your fans come on, and stay on till you turn them off.

i did both of these for my 4g63t swap to tackle cooling.
    both very simple mods.

next i'm getting a mini fan for my oil cooler and a temp switch so that i can keep my oil cool while in summer traffic. or whie shutting down the motor.

Can't wait to see some vids man!!!

i was thinking about doing the toggle switch worst case scenario but i think i'll be able to get it to work with the ecu. im going to try to wire up the obd II port properly and see if i can get that work as well too.

Nice work Noel. Glad to see it running. I think it's time to set up a real time web feed here in NY and synch it out in Cali so you and Brian can race each other.
