    eclipse 2.4 vs. galant 2.4

is there any difference between the two engines? if not, then that means that it is possible to take any eclipse part and put it on a galant right? i was wondering about this because it seems very difficult to find quality performance parts for the 8th gen galant. also, will a 2001 eclipse 2.4l transmission fit on a 2001 galant 2.4l?

Really!? How's about a standalone on a stock engine? Or r they mainly beneficial on turbo setups? I wanna keep my car naturally apirated as long as possible.

why would you want a standalone on a stock setup? the factory ECU is optimized for the stock setup.

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

Cuz the stock ECU has everything set in between safe limits. I was thinkin that wit da standalone i could at least tweek the engine a little bit more with out blowin up my engine.

You will only need a stand alone or piggyback if you are running a turbo setup....otherwise it's a ginormous waste of money. I'd look into getting your ECU flashed anyways, this will allow your ECU to not throw codes when fighting with the piggy back system.

    And of course, SEARCH

Well, first of all, I'd suggest:

    1) Condition of engine, Mileage is a good estimate. If you're at 100k you may require some work (do a compression check, make sure you're ignition system is in good health, replace all gaskets, etc)

    2) Budget: What can you spend? Can you afford to replace your engine when it goes BOOM!

    3) Goal: What do you want to acheive: 200whp, 250whp, etc.

    4) Additional Mods required: FI is great, but you'll be way behind the curve if your braking/suspension is sub par.

When u say over 100k miles, the engine might require work before installing a turbo, were u refer to head work or what? cuz i'm closin in on 100k fast.
