    The Big 3

    Has any1 done the big 3 on there car? IF so can any1 post some pics and how easy/hard it was....

    "The big three" means to replace the wires from:
    -Battery to chassis
    -Alternator to battery
    -Engine block to chassis

    I just bought a bunch of wiring to do this. I probably won't get to it for a couple more weeks, at least until it stops snowing. I doesn't look like a hard job at all, just make sure you crimp all of your connectons well and saind the paint of the chassis on your ground connections.

    I am going to "waste my money" on this because I am installing a large stereo system in my car and this will help the flow of electrical power. And honnestly It doesn't cost much money if you piece the kit together yourself.

    large as in? i'm guessing from your sig you're buying decent stuff...but i ran about 3000 watts and never did a big 3...and never had any problems with dimming lights or my alternator...i had 2 redtops though...

    I will be running 2 Orion 1200d's(1200x1@1ohm) and an Orion 8004(100x4@4ohms) on dual yellow tops. Maybe I could get away without doing it, but since I was already buying a bunch of install stuff I figured I would just do it at the same time. Just incase, you know.

    good call on the yellow tops...i wanted yellows, but my guy didnt have any at the time, and i never played the stereo without the engine running...so it didnt matter much...the orion's are current hogs though... if you wanna see a vid of my subs in action...go check the "post your system" thread in audio...

    I have done it, I will post pictures when I get home. My lights still dim and kinda seemed like a waste of time but hope it helps.
