word Cali how did you do it? I have a pair for the hood, but I was wondering if you could do the same for the trunk.
Yo Cali, how did you mount them to get the trunk to work? I've been trying to figure out a way to do that for awhile, even with the the guys from Redline. The best way that I've found to rig it to work, I saw on an Accord's trunk at NOPI last year. (Wish I knew where that pic was) I think they just used some regular gas springs from a auto parts store. But please post some pix if you could. If I can't get this to work, I was thinking about going the linear actuator route.Originally Posted by Cali

sorry for the late reply i kept forgetting. :)
i should clear something up. i didnt use the shocks for the hood; rather, i bought a kit from them for the lancer. (they have a trunk kit for the lancer) and played around with where i would install them using some very strong double side tape till i got it right. it's a very very tight fit but it works. here are some pics:

GROUND BREAKING!
That is some great work you did there buddy. It don't look like it was a simple job thats for sure.
hm. so it works on a CF trunk, without tension bars. i wonder how it would work on the factory trunk. i know when chicagogtz went in for the prototype they couldn't get it to work. i wonder what techniques they used to mount the trunk.

so when you pop your trunk, the trunk opens automatically? or you still need to use a finger to lift it?
finger it.

Another mod to think about
cali, when u go to close it, is it easy to close or is there a bunch of resistance? for those with factory trunks, you might want to ask for heavier shocks cuz the stock trunk weighs more, especially if you're gonna remove the torsion bars
