Im looking on www.car-part.com for parts and they all seem to be the same price as the V6 stuff? i thought theyd be a bit cheaper for the I4? either way i could prob get all the stuff for like 1300 as you said, makes me feel a whole lot better about the whole thing...

Without checking prices it looks like you spent a hell of alot more on the flywheel and the clutch kit.

Clutch kit isnt that expensive, about normal on an ACT 2600 kit. The flywheel is expensive though, did you get the aluminum? I have the ACT Streetlite flywheel which is a chrome-moly steel flywheel weighing 11lbs cost me $250. I know the aluminum flywheels weigh like 7 or 8lbs but those are just too fragile for my likings.

And galant_go_speed, just shop around, buy parts one at a time. Shop on eBay, local junkyards. If you have a U-Wrench-it or Pick-n-pull in your area, I HIGHLY suggest checking them out. This weekend they are having a 1/2 off sale on everything. Engines starting at $49.99, transmission starting at $29.99, its a sweet deal. I snagged a 5spd trans out a 7g for $49.99 on new years day.
    7g for life!

Mitsubishi liquid gasket is not neccesary if you don't crack the case open, I suggest not doing it. Also, if your transmission does not come with the flywheel and clutch you will need to buy those as well.

You cant compare his prices to 4 cylinder part prices, he has a V6, V6 flywheels and clutch's are always more $$$, especially fidanza, because its aluminum.

As far as 1/4 mile times. I had my stock 8g with a 5speed, no mods except for an ebay short ram intake, a slipping clutch and a vacuum leak.

I went 17.7, I dont remember the MPH, that was on stock nearly bald tires too. I never got a chance to take it to the track when it was an auto.
