Sorry but i really didnt understand the point of you getting a header from the 8G for the 7G. Was it an aftermarket header or stock header.</div>

I agree....I thought the 8g headers dont fit the 7g! I mean if it did, more people here would have headers on the 7g instead of farting around with RPW. I think you waisted your money homie. Did you test them? Do they actually fit? And if they are not aftermarket, what makes you think you will get better air flow from these?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Mindless)</div><div class='quotemain'>The 8g header will bolt up but you need to be aware of:

    1) The DP will not work so you will have to get one custom bent. Or if you can weld you can buy the bends and flanges and make your own.

    2) The header might rub the oil pan. I say might because I have an 8g header on my car and iy did rub the oil pan when I was trying to put it on. The header had to be bent to clear the oil pan.

There's other stuff but I can't remember right now. </div>

we knew that the 8G headers will bolt up to a 7G head, but it's the whole downpipe situation that discourages everyone. and just because they're the same engine code doesn't mean anything, hence 6 and 7bolt 4g63s

exactly. there have been headers for the 1g eclipse that fit the 7g way before they came out with 7g and 8g headers. we knew they fit but the whole downpipe situation scared everone away.

and some people have proven power losses with a header.......

getting a custom DP welded isn't all that bad, at a decent muffler/welding shop they can do it for $50 usually
