I agree...I don't see any reason to have twin turbos. The only reason manufacturers made twin turbo setups like in the Supras,300GT, 300ZX, etc etc is for marketing appeal.

i'd rock a quad turbo evo with a 2.3 stroker.
probably up the compression to 9 or 9.5.

quick spool and power across the board. all the way to the 8k redline.
i bet those bad boys whould whine all the way home too.

that is just such a clean design.
I'd do it just for the nastalgia.

true, but the guys that have an inline 6 normally know that twin turbo is stupid, why have two small turbos when you can have one big one!!

    spoolup, wider powerband, more streetable.

It is not stupid to have twin turbos. It is just most people with inline 6's (MKIV Supras) like to have big power. Having a big single is the best way to acheive that. One big effecient turbo is cheaper then two smaller ones, and two really big ones wouldn't spool fast enough to be usable. And even still one big turbo that can net you 700, 800 to over 1000whp is not going to spool very fast either.

There are a few people who would rather have a broader powerband and a more usable car and would get two quicker spooling turbos (each with their own seperate intake and not set up like the stock twins that are done sequentially) but rtaher in tandem setup. Yeah, you might only get 500-600 whp, OH NOES, but you'll have a car that isn't just a highway assassin either.
