    Gas Mileage

I have a Galant 97 with Short RAM intake and DTM SS Muffler. With regular gas which is the one I use I got 27mpg..Like 380 - 400 per 14 gallons tank.

I filled up in early feb, and i still have about half a tank. I guess i should mention the car only moved about 20 miles since then.

I usually get about 30 MPG on the highway, but during the winter I was getting about 26-28 MPG. The city, during the summer at least, I was getting about 25 MPG. I have a stock 94 Galant S, 5 spd.

I guess the big difference would be the auto vs 5 speed.

i went from houston to dallas on a half a tank and that's like 300 miles, so if you drive your car right, then you can get a lot!!

'97, bone stock (except for NGK wires), regularly maintained, auto, 146K miles on the odo and last time I timed it I got 270 miles from F to E, and that was driving like a grandpa the whole time, making every effort in the world to stay under 3K RPM's at all times...

I think I could be getting better gas milage. Suggestions?

It's ahievable, but you were probably driving in 5th most of the time on highway.

Just did a frsh oil change and noticed no significant gas milage increase. Are most people getting about that same milage, or is something wrong with my car... :?

I got 320miles to a tank last week, I was proud. 93 octane, crap tune, mostly highway mileage. My galant does almost as good on the highway as my dailey driver....I need a new dailey driver

I am looking for a daily driver too. My new job is a bit farther away from my previous job and I really don't want to put miles on the Galants. Plus I need something practical especially when I buy my house I will need it. So I am looking for a pickup truck...nothing big, actually a Mitsubishi Mighty Max with a good ol' 4G64 in it 8) I'll probably put -G-rims current turbo setup in that truck for the hell of it after I drop in the new motor in -G-rim. 8)

LoL 8) 8) ...Come on man, think of it, a whimpy looking Mitsubishi Mighty Max venting blow off noises. That would be fun!!! Plus it doesn't hurt to have the additional torque 8)
