plug?

I was cleaning out under my driver seat today, and noticed that I have a plug under the seat, there's a male and female end, but its not hooked up. Does anybody have any idea what this is and does it need to be hooked up?

many times the car is prewired for optional accesories like power seats

yeah, but it seems like if this was pre-wired, then just a male end or female end would be there, not both right?

Not always. I've seen that on a lot of ford products they just leave both end there so if the optional thing is put on at the dealership it's easier for them.

as long as it isn't hurting anything, and I guess it isn't, then I'll just leave it then.
