the 18x8 will fit but when you have some load on the car they are going to rub when you hit something on the road

    i'm running 18x8 with 225/40/18's

    mine don't rub,
    well not really.
there is one bolt that hold the fender in,
    in the front.
and it appears that from time to time i may hit that bolt.

    buty i will remedy that.
the truth is it only happens on one side.
    my passenger,
and i have actually had the strut fork slip up in the past (which would lower my ride height)
so i'm going to check to see if that is the culprit, but other than that,
i have a complete fender well above the tire.

This is the clearance i have with my 18x8's, with a full turn to the left. you see the tire size. the only place i rub is on the rear passenger. The pic is the driver side front.

blue ice, what about hitting some bumps while you are turning?
thats the only time i think i rub at all. i don't actually ehar any rubbing,
i just think i can see wear lines on the tire.

well honestly i think my passenger rear shock is gone, i can hear it "breathing" when i hit bumps. and it's the only side that has ever rubbed. i'll get rubbing if i'm turning onto an incline, but again it's only on that side i think my shock is bad. I don't have any rubbing any where else.
That shock may have been bad from the day i got them in. I remember there being some fluid on the box, as if a chock had leaked a little. but it seemed ok before i put it on. oh well

I have 18x8 +42 offset Racing Hart C2's with 215/35/18 Nittos. I have no rubbing issues and I have a inch to a half inch gap.

With a 97-98 front bumper conversion..you can use the same bumper reinforcement.

This is a pic from last year. The car is a bit lower right now..but still don't have any rubbing issues and I have it some good bumps and made some wicked turns.
