    Burning Oil

    Anyone ever have this happen?

This car has been sitting right now b/c of title issues (which should be straightened out this week finally)... I do go out and start it every few days. But I had to let it sit for about a week, when I went to start it- it started smoking and then after about 15 minutes of running it cleared up. Then this past weekend when I moved it in the garage it started doing it again. Started it... smoked then cleared up.
Can anyone think of a reason for this besides bad rings?
    Bad PCV valve?

valve seals are a very common source of oil consumption on our aged motors.

its usually the exhaust valves since they deal with such high temperatures.

    do a compression test.

wouldn't hurt to replace your pcv valve if you never have, or if its been a while.
