My gues would be to paint. Due to the fact that dye will never come out evenspread.

depends on what the material is. for example on plastic, paint is better. but on like vinyl, dye is better.

Any material when properly dyed will come out as your clothes do, evenly dyed. Vinyl, leather, and cloth it doesn't really matter.

Dye is the way to go for a good look.
