to answer your question...no, since engine's don't rotate 'backwards' lol
Last weekend (August 26th to be exact) I spun my car in the rain. Stupid me trying to show a girl what I meant by "I love the roads by your house, I can get this car sideways."
The parking brake stuck (I used this because I wasn't in a situation where speed could induce a slide) and WHOA I went around for the first...and probably not the last time ever.
It was a two land bypass road, kinda like a fishbowl turn. A dipping/sweeping left hander, so I tried to correct and I went around anyway. Luckily I hit nothing and no one, not even the curb!
My question is this: When an automatic spins, does it stall itself to prevent damage from the engine turning backwards?
When I stopped, I put down the brake and pressed the gas. I was too deaf from tires making sounds tires normally ought not make, so I couldn't hear the engine was shut off. I quickly put it in neutral and started her right back up...then drove off.
Also, there wasn't any damage done, (aside from the barely flat-spotted rear tires. Thank you rain!) was there?
Thanks for your input!
