Thread: 2.4 dohc motor swap

    i after doing a little research i found out that the kia optima motor is the same as the 4g64 with dohc. the problem is the compression, which the 2006 has 10.5.1. so what im planing on is building the motor with 9.1 compression.

    Cool, why so high? 9.1 is still a bit high for FI. Well not really, unless you can tune very well.

    10.5 woudl be fun
    wouldn't be hard to boost.

    why dunt you just keep ur block and use the evo head. the evo had has stronger internals.

    +1 on that. Tuning wouldn't be fun.

    IIRC Matt is planning on going with a relatively high CR as he doesn't want to run high boost (no more than 12 psi).
