4g63t ARP head stud ?

Was lookin to order for the GSX. Not sure if I want the 11mm or 12mm. I'm in that in-between 1994 area. Also, whats the difference between u/cut studs and standard? Found 4 different part numbers for a 1994 Eclipse. Not sure if anyone is going to know, but I thought I'd ask.

Ehhhh if its a 6bolt then they are 12mm, 7bolt are 11mm. Which do you have?

7bolt - ARP 207-4203
6bolt - ARP 207-4201

If its the stock motor, a 94 would be a 7bolt. Only 90-91 and some 92s were 6bolts.

7-bolt. Also, should I get the connecting rod bolts as well which are 8 and 9mm? I knew you'd be on top of it.

Are you rebuilding? If so then yes. If not then eh idk. Headstuds are worth replacing along with the stock gasket.

What are all the mods to the motor?

my 7bolt used the 11m arps. i was told by my machine shop guy and all the pretentious assholes on tuners that arp rod bolts are overkill on the stock motors pushing the stock ponies, but you're running 12s at 400whp...so i'd say get the arp rod bolts

They're only $30 or around there so its not a huge investment. So whats the under cut studs difference?

if you go with the arp rod bolts, you have to have them pressed in. so factor that cost in.

so basically when you take your head off, you drop your oil pan too,
then you take off the nuts on your rod bolts.
then you tap the piston/rod out the top of the block.
take them to a machine shop(make absolutley sure you mark each piston in order and the orientation of it)
have the machine shop press out the old bolts, press in the new bolts.

then reassemble on the engine.

you will gain the ability to rev much higher safer(provided you ahve a valvetrain that will support it, and cams that breath well at higher rpms so there is actually point to goign up there)

Yah but if all that is required to just install the $30 bolts, may as well get a set of Eagle rods for $300 and a new set of pistons for $500. But if your doing all that, you may as well have the block hot tanked, cranked polished, errr scratch that, 2.4L crank for a 2.3L stroker motor, new bearings, ect, ect...
