I want to start building by GS baby up but have some thoughts about which way to go.

Here are two routs I am thinking of going

    1st is get a hold of a 6 bolt 4g63t

    2nd Is build a stocker 64T engine.

I want to reach somewhere between 300-350whp, I know I can reach that goal with both if I spend a ton of money but I want to built something that wont kill my pocket. I am leaning more towards the Stocker 64t but I know for a fact the 63t is just as strong so guys help me out in deciding which way to go.

My goal is to have something that is a beast like Dohc black beauty or G-rims beast.

i would go w/ the 64 and just dont do too much boost.. 10 pounds would be enough for me.. and w/ some arp studs and a good head gasket and kevlar belt should be reliable too.. plus id leave the stock 10:1 comp. ratio..

what color are u planing? stay white? i think that would look hott since we already have triplets in black :D

soon to come, 97 Copper GST 5spd, Bone Stock, for now...

I am staying white, i aint changing the color on her.

I am leaning more towards the stocker because its cheaper in a way, i also plan to keep to buy some reinforced piston heads, piston rods, stonger crank and some other things to make sure she is strong for that amount of power i am looking to make.

Just keep the GS motor, rebuild it with some 1g big rods or aftermarket and Wiesco pistons. Would be just as much to build the bottum end on a 64 as it would be to buy a used JDM '63t.

If only I could start over...

well a jdm 4g63t will come with a lot of other items like turbo, manifold, oil pan, oil supply and water lines, injectors, better cams.
so it woudl still cost more to build up a 4g64t and go that route...

what i woudl do if i were you:
    boost your current motor.

get a block from a yard, and build it up.

run your engine with boost, run as much as you can safely.
all the while building up yoru short block.
    once your block is complete...
test the limits of the stock engine.
see how far it can go.
    once it pops.
drop in the built shortblock, and boost to the moon.

Well i have two G's, the 96-S is going to be my daily driver and i plan on boosting that one with a 14b something small just so i can get some additional experience on turbo and all.

I want to take the GS engine out and start building that up, i think that the rout i will go.

Whats the best parts i should get for the build up.

What brand of piston head should i use???

Should i use the 1g piston rods or something else????

Do i keep the crankshaft the same or change it??????

What other parts can i use or have to buy to make the car reach my goal of 300-350whp.
