    Possible catback?

I have been speaking with Gregg the owner of HyperDrive. He says that if we can get 20 people to want something made his company is willing to produce it. His company is able to make everything from superchargers to air intakes and strut tower bars. I have told him the problem we have had with the supercharger sytems and I would like to see a catback system. I am waiting for a response but I would like too see what everyone here would like too see made?

Well Hyperdrive is able to hook us up on getting a catback system made.
Here is the reply that I got.

I (Gregg) happen to be good friends with the former R&D Manager at Borla who has his own business making custom headers and exhaust. He says he would be willing to make a high quality cat back system with polished stainless muffler and dual stainless tips (or one large single) for $350 a piece (if you can get 10 guys interested.) The price will obviously go down with greater quantities.$350 might sound high but when you consider they are hand made by a craftsman, and not mass produced in Taiwan, it's not that bad. He would have to obtain a car, design the system ,build fixtures and do dyno testing. He would have quite an investment in time. The system would be mandrel bent and require no cutting or welding. He does very nice work and is the same guy that designed the Viper headers and exhaust for Chrysler

So who is intrested in getting an actual cat back made for our car. What I am really asking is who would pay the $350.00 for this catback. Of course if we get more people intrested in this the cheaper the price.

350 is not bad but uhm, what kind of muffler are they gonna use, do they have some kind that they make themselves or are they gonna use one of the readily availbe universal mufflers...that makes a big difference in the price

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

From my understanding from the rest of the email that I did not post this will be all handmade/custom. But I will ask.

That's not a bad price at all. I'd be down as long as it is a nice deep toned exhaust with a single 4.5 to 5 inch tip. Just let us know what kinda time frame we are talkin about here, cause i had planned on getting one made with the AC Autotechnic muffler, but i can wait a little longer if this is actually going to happen.

I'm going to the shop tomorrow to get quoted on a complete new 2.5 Cat back +_ Down pipe (not including the Cat or Muff) depending on the price they tell me, I'm possibly in.

    Bigmoney,

Time fram depends on us. How many we can get intrested and development. If there shop which I think it is here in Cali I can be the test car.

    Black2K1,

This tip will probably not be that big. I personally do not want to see it that large. I think maybe a 3" to 3.5 is a good size. But again this all depends on us.

    cdaw2001es,

Right now there is no actual cat back for our car. You can get one custom made but the quality will not even though probably small be like an actual cat back. And this actual cat back will be tuned specifically to our car dyno and everything

To my understanding I4 and V6 share the same pipe routing.
