    I have a 2.4l with the 4g63 head swap,pistons 9.1:1.
I want to get a turbo, and don't know wich one will performe good on this engine.
I was thinking of getting a big 16g evo lll turbo.

depends on your fuel system, and the strength of your bottom end.
are you still on stock rods?

    how large are your injectors.

and what kind of power do you want to have?
with a 2.4 just about any mid-large turbo will spool just right for you.
20g, 50trim(if you want to run between 18 and 30 psi), vtrim(if you want to run under 20psi and make big power)
evo 16g is a great turbo but on a 2.4 its going to spool so quick you will hate it(on a fwd anyways)
    i'd run nothing smaller than a 18g.
you are really going to want something with at least a td06h turbine wheel.

but again. you are limited by your feul system, and how much flow you have in your injectors.

    need more info

I have eagle rods, mustang throttle body,i want to run between 10 to 15 psi.

Evo 3 16g would be a good choice.

Yes,that's right, but like DOHC said it will boost quick and i will get wheelspin,he's got a point

DOHCstunr has the G50 and on a 2.0L it should spool around 3500-3800, so on a 2.4L Id say anywhere from 3000-3300RPM. Not bad at all. Id have to say that my 14b on a 2.0L spools around 2200-2500RPM, way to quick for FWD.

I waas thinking of getting the PTE SCM-5031E, It would be a good match for a 2.0L, might want something slightly bigger for a 2.4L.

So Seth you think the g50 will be good or my 2.4l?

Do you notice any lag on an autocross course, or is it almost instant, and is it too much for autocross.

Pft, there is no lag with a 14b, I wish I had something bigger for autocross. Im going to go with an Evo3 16g if I keep the 2.0 or if I get a 2.4L, Im going with a PTE SCM-5031E.

I would assume so. If I had a compressor map for the turbo I coudl do some efficiency calculations for the 2.4L. But ask DOHCstunr what he thinks of the turbo, he currently has it on his 2.0L

the g50 is a great turbo in my opinion. it whips my old 14b's ass.
i've had a few problems getting it to spool as quick as it should, but its not the turbo's fault.
i keep breaking manifold studs off at the head and it causes a exhaust leak which kills my spool...
but right now at this very moment, running 16psi with 3 broken manifodl studs, and my super low 7.8:1 copmpression,
i love this turbo, its laggy for me as i said, but it pulls sooo damn hard.

on yoru 2.4 assuming you won't ahve any leaks, you coudl get 20 psi as quick as 3500 rpms. it soudns so mean too, when it spools it sounds like a harrier jet, i love that sound.

but to run this turbo man, you have to have an adequate fuel system.
you WILL need no less than
    a walbro 255lph fuel pump(rewired)
    a adjustable fuel rpessure regulator,
    at least 750cc injectors.
and i'd reccomend an external wastegate if you want precise boost control, without a drop off up top.

but once i get all my exhaust leaks sorted out, i shoudl be able to tear up the streets with it.
    you'd be pleased.

    i'd reccomend a 50 trim or a tdo6h 20g turbo.

Ive rode in his car before, the G50 sounds amazing! The spool is so loud and clear and it pulls hard!

But DOHCstunr,i have pistons 9.1:1,how many psi do you think i can go?
    I'm going to bay that turbo,the g50.
Did you dyno it already?howmany horses did you got?

you need to set some goals.

    your compression ratio shoudln't matter.
    8:1 or 12:1
its all in the tune. you can run more boost on low compression with lower octane fuels,
but higher compression makes more power out of boost, and makes more power in boost... just can't boost as high.
9:1 compression and 93 octane won't set you back at all.
with a good tune you coudold still get into the low 20 psi's with pump gas and that compressor wheel(its the pump gas king!)

so which is it? do you want a turbo that will make big power on lower boost levels( like the v-trim)
or do you want a turbo that makes big power on high boost.
its up to you... and your goals.

You could also go with a thicker head gasket to lower your compression ratio, just make sure to check and more than likely change at least your intake cam timeing and possibly your exhaust cam, depends on how fare before bdc its opening.

I want to run big hp on lower boost.
Btw i have the cometic headgasket .054mls4 layer.
My friend here in Aruba has a 4g63 in his lancer,on 8psi 335hp,on 15psi 420hp with a gt35,but to expensive for me right now
I just want my car to run 11's.
So what do you recomend me DOHCstunr
