Need help w/ some bench testing

Hi everybody, Im basically trying test an Alpine MRV-F352 amp. so I can sell it knowing that it works since I bought it used and never installed it. But anyway Im using my Clarion VRX935VD flipout and a Rockford 10" sub. (which Im also selling).
Im no audio guru so bare with me. Im using a 12 volt booster pack to power everything and so far my problem is when I turn on the Clarion HU on tuner, the amp. powers up, but when I put in on cd the amp shuts off. So I took the remote lead I had connected to the Clarion harness (leading into the tuner unit) and connected directly to the 12 volt source and powered up the amp. so Ill leave it like that for now becuase I want to see if the amp. and sub work.
Problem #2 with remote lead wired directly to the 12 volt source Im still not getting sound to the sub. I triple checked the RCA and speaker wire connections w/ amp. and HU manuals and Im pretty sure I did it right. Finally I just took the amp. out of the mix and connected the sub. directly to the HU to see if it works and it does, so at least I know the sub works now.

If anybody is familiar with this amp. and head unit please let me know what Im doing wrong.

Amp+ and remote goes to a 12volt power source
Amp - goes to ground
RCAs from the Tuner to the Amp

If you have this done then the amp should be working.
