Actually shooting with a DSLR is more difficult than with a P&S. With a P&S the camera does everything. Its really hard to get bad shots with a P&S. With a DSLR, you have to learn about metering and aperture among other things. I've heard so many complaints from people who are first time DSLR users, about some shots being overexposed or underexposed. What they dont realize is that they have to know what to meter from and compensate for over or underexposure. If you know what you are doing with a DSLR, you can take some stunning photographs.

I dont use the automatic settings on my camera all the shot I took were with my manual settings. That is one reason why I chose this particular camera. Believe me I had a hard time at first, b/c I didn't understand the metering and I was over and underexposing my shots. So in a way I will be a beginner with a DSLR but not to the metering, apeture, shutter speed and ISO.
