cigarette lighter not working in my 7G

I'm kinda thinking the lighter and assembly just might be altogether shot.
I have been trying to use my cell phone charger and no luck (yes it does work). My fiances GPS power cord and that isn't working (yes that does work too). And the lighter itself wont work. I can push it in but it doesn, stay in and heat up, even if I hold it in, it still doesn't heat up. All the fuses are fine. I have the remote wire for my amp tapped into the positive for the cigg lighter, (been like that for over a year) and the amp turns on so the cigg lighter is getting power.
Anyother thoughts? or should I just get a cigg lighter assembly? and if that's the case anyone got one for sale here?

the same thing happpened in my g its the whole assembly. just go out and get a universal one...

I got one out of my old 7g Jay, and the lighter worked. (Not a sales pitch) I think it's in my last FS thread, make an offer, we can meet up and I'll deliver half-way or something.

They sell replacement ones at your local auto parts store.. They have them at Strauss.
