Nice turbo. Is the block and head built? Careful with the PSI of the FP red. If you did 10 psi on the evo turbo do 5 on the new one.

I was doing 15psi on stock motor for 3 years with no problems. Evo Head and block are built. Gonna break it in on the stock evo 9 turbo with stock actuator which is around 12psi. After I'll put the FP Red which comes with a 25psi actuator after a loss of a pound or so in the system going through the piping and intercooler I'll be seeing 22 maybe spiking to 25 at times. For the time being I don't plan on going higher, that with a good tune should put me over 400 to the wheels.

Well haven't advanced much but did get exhaust manifold back. Had it extended to clear the starter and it sure does the job with the FP Red being bigger than the stock unit.

Touched up manifold with 2000 degree ceramic coating

I'd rather have the knowledge and ability to do it than the money to buy it already done.

Well got plenty of work done.. Still a lot left.

A bit dirty.. But what can u expect from an almost 10 year old car

Did the best I could.. Good enough.

Installed special fitting for power steering pressure line.

    Had motors mounts pressed in.

Took tranny off getting it ready for the other engine

Tomorrow is another day.. Hopefully I can get the engine in.

I admire guys (and gals) who can do engine swaps and do them so quickly, because it's something that looks daunting, and you guys make it look easy. Great work man!

I imagine if you have the right tools it's not too bad, but if not, probably a hassle. I don't have air or a hoist where I'm at, so it would be a long day for me. Hopefully this time next year I'll be in a house with a garage, so it'll be a moot point.
Anyhow, I'm diggin this build, can't wait to see the end result!

well im dead tired... doing this by yourself can take a toll on you...motor is in still fighting with the rear mount to get the bolt to go through its half way in, blah...once thats done i can start hooking stuff up.

pre-test fitted the turbo again.. i see some problems...but ill post later and see what i do.

been really busy lately and haven't been able to completely finish.. but its about 95% done..just a couple things left before she fires up. waiting on a power steering pump since the one i had has a warped pulley and it wobbles..with my luck the pulley is not sold separately, so i purchased a used pump from a local shop, still need to hide a couple wires in the bay put in the fluids, recheck everything..and finally re-flash the ecu to handle the 1000cc injectors and shes good to go to crank up...i think the scariest part is the making sure she cranks over and stays idling perfect before i can relax...hopefully i didnt forget anything that can become fatal, but ive been researching and taking my time with this build. once shes past the break in period i will drop in the FP Red, run it a couple hundred miles more and get it 100% tuned.
