    will it spool?

I have aquired a Garrett T25 turbo but nothing else turbo wise.
I was wondering if i could try something new, and be the first to mount a turbo sts style. As in, the turbo is in place of the muffler in the back.
From what i have read, with this set up i should need only a very small intercooler if any at all. This way the turbo would spool faster as if it had an open downpipe on a normal turbo system. I plan to run 16-22psi with some upgraded pistons and cylinder head off an eclipse.
The big question is, will this car be able to spool that turbo mounted so far back?
I did some math and found out that is would only lose about 1psi on the trip to the front, but i cant be sure that the turbo will spool.

I think its pointless to make a sds system since eclipse parts are easy to find these days. You would also probably end up spending more to turbo it since everything would have to be custom.

    Re: will it spool?

there is more t oa turbo spooling than just exhaust pressure,
in fact majority of the turbo's required energy comes from heat.
and by the time the exhaust gets to your muffler it has gone from 1300+*
    down to around 200ish.
and of course there is much less pressure at that temperture.

i'm sure it will spool, but it won't pull hard, and there is no possible way you will be able to reach yoru target psi.

even if you set it up in stock eclipse configuration... that turbo will kill itself anything over 18 psi(and at 18psi its blowing some inneficient hot air).

    don't waste yoru time.

I dont think it would be efficient at all. The domestics that have the STS setups run v8s which put out a lot more exhaust then our tiny 4cyl. Dont try to be different, just run a standard 1g/2g manifold and be done.

With STS kits, you have to run oil to the turbo, not sure how they do that.

one of the best performance aspects to the 7G is that we are extremely light because our cars are giant, fragile tin cans......adding dozens of feet of piping and oil lines doesn't exactly help our anorexia and will probably get gnared to hell the first time you tackle a speed bump lol

yeah, probably not worth it in the end....
oh well, now i just gotta get the other turbo parts offa 2g...

ya i wouldnt bother, u would have to run an oil pump to force oil in, and out of the turbo back to the pan. you would have to have alot of cutom pipes made, and u wouldnt have to much lowend power gains. stick with a regular setup with eclipse parts. much cheaper and easier that way.
