Make a USDM Finless Grille Mod

Like the title said, there's no real tutorial for this classic mod. I am in no way shape or form responsible for any loss or damages covered in this tutorial. What I included in the pics are for the mod itself, not the painting or installing the mesh. but what you need not covered in the tutorial are:

    PAIR of GLOVES
    GOGGLES
    MOUTH MASK

Grille mesh (or chicken wire depending on your current budget)
    Wire cutter
    400 - 800 grit sandpaper(s)
    Dremel drill bit accessory
    Small wood screws ( 8 )
    Primer
    Base paint
    Clear coat

Those pics are from TGC members

    Enjoy! :D

Need to sand down the chrome so I can paint it, but hand sanding is taking forever, and even with a dremel it is. I need like an air powered sander, like a compressor. And I couldn't find decent looking mesh, only at lowe's, but it was like a 2 foot by 2 foot sheet O.O

You dont need to completely strip the chrome, just sand enough to where the smooth finish is gone, then primer and paint. It'll take you forever to strip that chrome completely and get down to the base...

LOL, to get the finish off use like an 60-80 grit then gradually work your way up to 400-800 grit sandpaper, like 100, 200, 300, then 400 grit. Otherwise you will still see all the little grooves after you paint it.

Yup, but you should paint your radiator support that shows behind your grille black now. It'll look alot better. Just remove your grille and your heads and mask off your bumper. Then hit it with some black paint out of a rattle can. You'll be satisfied with the results.
