    Brake/rotor change tutorial

    Hey,

I cant seem to find any real tutorial on how to change the front and back pads, change the rotors, and bleed the brake fluids.

I've searched on the forms but all the toutrials end up having dead links. Do does anybody know any good tutorial for the galant or something similar.

if not anybody know the basic steps as far as the bleeding the fluids, changing the pads and rotors and what tools i need.

    I have:

    the pads
    the rotors
    brake fluid
    brake cleaner
    brake gel,

so what else do i need

    thanks

do you have disk or drums in the rear?

bleeding brakes is easy... i would recommend getting the brake bleeding check valves you can bleed them by yourself...

doing the rear if you have disk is just like doing the fronts..

you also need something to push the piston back into the caliper like a c clamp (get a pretty large one)

is your brake fluid dirty? if not you dont really need to flush it... hope this helps you some look at the tutorial Prophet posted it will show you what you need to do

For what it is worth, I had the beat the freakin' crap out of my front rotors to get them off. The hubs rust and swell up, grabbing the inside of the rotor, and seizing it onto the hub. My right rotor came off in 2 pieces, and the left rotor came off in 3. Depending on the part of the country that you live in, you may want to add a large hammer to your arsenal of items to have when doing a brake job. You may also want to practice swinging it with accuracy, because once you hit the lug, your day becomes a WHOLE lot longer.
Good Luck, I have my fingers crossed that you aren't in New England.

EDIT: Now I see you are in California, thank goodness!
