Anyhow...Boosted, is there a noticable difference with that Ingalls stiffener?

you guys are funny as hell when it comes to noobs. anyway, 6G, i was reading heavily on the ETD before i purchased it to make sure it would be worth it and there was nothing but positive reviews. so i thought i might be the first to try it on a galant and low and behold it does provide a sense of stiffness that not even my solid motor mounts could provide. the very first and most noticeable thing was the power transfer. in any gear at virtually any engine speed you could tap the throttle and the car would respond with a quick and abrupt jerk. as far as launching i still cant get any traction, but then again this thing is all about torque so i didnt expect much in this department but the annoying diff-breaking wheel hop has seemed to cease. i have mine set at 10 right now which is its highest setting but even on the lowest you could still feel the jerk previously mentioned

As far as the 6g74 swap goes, did you use the 6g72 ecu? I understand the fuel injector problem. Is that corrected with a custom tune or is that what you are using the e-manage for. Also, did you use all of your 3.0 accesories, serpentine belt, alternator, what nots, etc. I know some bolt holes for accesory brackets are not the same. Any problems mounting the flywheel to the crank? Or any other substantial problems you can think of? Your a pretty smart Air Force dude, i think you handle these small ones. Thanks.

ok the only issue that i had when swapping the 74 in was making sure everything was out of the way when i was lowering this big bitch into the engine bay. everything swapped over from the 72 except the power steering and AC bracket. i chose to keep the AC but get rid of the power steering so i didnt even bother with the power steering bracket. make certain though that when you get your 74 that it has as much as possible on it as far as parts and assesories other wise you will be buying them separate. now the 72's ecu will work fine and believe it or not even without a tune it runs the 74 better than the diamante ecu. i went and got dynod shortly after swapping the motor and made an immediate power increase of 23whp and 58wtq! like i said thats with no tuning and using the 270cc injectors as opposed to the 210s that come stock so naturally it was running more rich than necessary (10:1 at 6500rpm). i have since used the emanage to fine tune and sort out issues with timing and the like and now am seeing almost 70whp more than stock. of course the manual tranny swap helps with getting the power to the ground

No power steering? Do we have a rack and pinnion setup on our cars and if so wouldnt you have to replace it after awhile without the power steering?

With power steering it doesn't affect your handling while maintaining 35+ mph. What really hurts you is when your trying to make a 3-point turn, or a U-turn..... Tried it, didn't like the handling so was left with one option, back in she goes!!

Car is sold, no more G.... Moved on to something a big more sporty.... lol

Alexvr might be doing this swap if he sells his mirage

tell you what, i bench 360 and do frontal deltoid lifts with 50lbs dumbells so this power steering thing doesnt really fuck with me too bad . anyway, i like it because it gives you much more feedback on the road and what your suspension is doing while its doing it if you know how to "read" it. i plan on removing everything including the lines for the ps as to save more weight. its all in the name of performance right?

thanks for the love man. there will be more going into this thread really soon as i have already started buying things for the NA build. lets just say i plan to make 350whp on race gas. oh and as you can see i dont bullshit

  13. #133
boostzealot in 10 years i will give you 10 grand and you build me a monster k? lol

gotta give me some time to get rich.

  14. #134
shit man this has really just been a build in me putting my money in the right place. seriously i have only about 6k in this project so far but then again thats not counting the exterior stuff. this motor build will put me over the 8k mark though but damn its going to be well worth it because this car NA will be blowing turbo heads up! me and tim can do anything now considering we have done more research on this platform in the last year than some reputable companies have in the last year. instead of making another thread about my build i will just include it in this one. i think it will be pretty fun doing this motor NA because of its potential. already its making really good power and the internals havent been touched yet. just wait, im buying the cams and shit on the first so 350whp here i come!

brandon, get my addy from tim. lol that would be great, i know it would be funny as hell as we are all reviewing each others porn as if they were trading cards!

ED hey that'll be just fine. good luck to you on your venture for more power. you will notice one hell of a difference but its just going to make you mad because its how mitsu should have offered a version of the 8g like nissan did the altima (altima SE-R)

Bah, you guys and your silly displacement. I'll stick with my 3 liters, now I just need to really build my heads so I can make this fucker rev.

What kind of compression ratios are you looking at running, and where are you going to get those pistons.

I really havent seen much on what pump gas compression limits would be with this motor, would 11-11.5:1 be doable.
RIP: Colin McRae, you will be missed.

    lol i love my displacement.

    here is the build concept:
    CP 11:1 cr pistons
    stock rods
    clevite bearings
    RPW stage 2 cams
    RPW venier cam gears
    full head port and polish
    Jenvey 48mm or 50mm itbs
    custom lower manifold
tuned with an emanage ultimate (by tim)

with the machine work that pro-machine says that they can do, they said 300whp on pump will be easy with this motor at this altitude. i cant wait. the engine parts purchasing starts on the first.
