    widest 17" wheel possible?

I might be going with 17's next, but what is the widest I can possibly go if I do a 45 series tire? I'm doing all suspension next ie: swaybar, strut bars, coilovers, master bushing set. This is going to be my roadcar. I was thinking about 8.5" wide with a 32os. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Well, it all depends on the width of the tire.

Here are the sizes availible in a 17" 45 series tire:

    205/45-17
    215/45-17
    225/45-17
    235/45-17
    245/45-17
    255/45-17
    255/40-17
    265/40-17
    275/40-17

(I'm sure there are more, but those are the first to come to mind)

In any case I know of at least one member here who ran 245/45-17s on 17x7 +42mm offset Centerline wheels.

I'd venture to guess since many have fit 8.5" wide wheels on a Galant that a +38mm offset would be optimal. Personally I'd stop at a 17x8, but its up to you. Just remember whatever you do you WILL need to roll the fenders, possibly even cutout the lips (like Reelax had to do).
