    Chamber Kit really worth it?

is it really worth getting a chamber kit when you lower your car??? is it that big of a difference??? what can i expect from just using lowering springs?

if your camber is good then you don't need one. if your camber is out of range its good so that you can save your tires.

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

If your riding on stock size (15, 16, or 17) and getting it lowered (doesn't matter how low), the center gravity will make the camber towards the negative side. That's because the spring has to travel more to the ground thus pulling the wheels inwards. Those with 18's, 19's, and 20's owners don't see a gradual change in camber because the plus size actually lift the car up thus "shaving" off a couple of degrees in camber, even though it's still in the negative.

Ok, I have 18 with KYB GR2 and progress spring, how should I know that the camber is out of range or not?

Only if you can clearly see an extreme negative camber, a trained alignment specialist with a computerized alignment system can determine your camber degree.

Are you wearing out your rear tire's inner wall?
Mine sat at -3 deg. camber on my Megan Racing springs. The springs offer a 2" drop. I was going through tires left and right. I didn't think I need a camber kit either at first, but replacing the tires got to be too costly.

-1 to -1.75 is one thing but -3 is too obvious

i would personally still get a camber kit even though i have 18's 19 or 20's... having -1 or 1.5. Camber is costly kuz tires are soo expensive... shoot for -.5 :P
    uhhhh...... Whats a 9g???

umm no. that's wrong. completely wrong. here's a pic of my car on 18's:

the camber is a function of the arc in the suspension travel. the lower u go the more the tops of the tires go inboard. wheel size (given the total rolling circumference stays constant) has no affect on camber except that the bigger the wheel, the more expensive the tire you will chew up early if not camber corrected.

^ That's wierd, my 16's were at - 2.27 till I changed to 18's it's at -1.72, got a camber kit and got it to -.75. Iwas just basing it from personal experiences lol.

camber kits make a massive difference. you're taking a tube of rubber (your tire) and making it sit level on the ground...as opposed to having a lot more pressure on the inside and less on the outside. need i say more? the handling and control of the car are greatly improved after returning your alignment back to spec.

same alignment shop, same machine? wheels size does not affect camber (caveat - tire size must make the whole package equal the same circumference... you may have changed your tire rolling diameter between 16's and 18's). you are attributing the change in camber to something that does not affect it. did you change anything else?

I'm an a alignment tech at my shop. I went from stock 15's at a -0.78 degree camber to 18's at -2.75. So it is really worth getting a camber kit. In the long run you'll save a lot more money from getting tires every other month. I'm now at a -0.15 degree camber on each side.

I would strongly reccommend putting on a camber kit, just to be safe. Because when Miss Mav. and I dropped our G without the camber kit, after about 2 months the inside of the tires were all down to nothing. So we decided to put the camber kit on, and get a new set of tires. We havnt had any tire problems since...

think of it this way, no one on here has properly lowered their car until they have a camber kit all around.....

DANJ, CALI, VEGASMATT and i have the same setups pretty much... TEIN SS-P and INGALLS alignment kits at all four corners (the front are redundant since the upper pillow ball mounts on the TEIN's have camber correction slots). b4 my camber correction i was going through rear tires every few months.
