seafoam cleans out your intake and chamber. You spray it in from a vacuum line and it goes into your intake mani and cleans out deposits left by your egr system. Btw seafoam will foul your plugs so make sure you do it before you change your plugs.

Here is a writeup on a product just like it http://www.vfaq.com/mods/MCCC.html

could be, also check the seals around the holes where the spark plug cables go, just pull the cable out and check the black thing

yeah man i thought my gaskets were bad, well they pry are getting there, but i had oil pouring out the valve cover and chances are the spark plugs had some on it too....the trick is, pull the PCV out, shake it, and if it doesnt sound like a rattle, you need a new one. im never good with mechanical but since I just recently replaced this I'll make this attempt at advice haha

PCV - Positive Crancase Ventilation. The PCV valve is the thing sticking out of your valve cover connected to a hose. To replace it, pull it out, pull it off the hose. Dispose of it properly. Remove new PCV valve from the box, connect it to the hose. Re-insert it in valve cover.

There's the tutorial. Sorry no pics

Not changing out gaskets = oil leaking into the spark plugs. learned that first hand I'm afraid.

Care to explain why it is damaging? Just wondering because I have had good results with using it. Never kept a car that long to notice any long term affects so would like to know.

its a solvent, and a strong one at that.
it strips away the lubrication level (assuming you placed it in your oil) as the engine is running, similar to having no lubrication at all.

basically, ALL crap you add to your engine or fuel is 1)a waste of money, 2)does no good, and 3)can often damage things.

the simple thing to know about all engines.... change the oil and filter often using a good oil.
Thats it. Nothing else needs to be done. If in fact you have a "sludged" engine, its too late. Damage is done, and no miracle in a can will do anything.
