    Wiring harness

Do we really have to have the wiring harness to hook up a aftermarket stereo? or can we install it with out it?

I get mine from ebay for like 6 bucks shipped... and they all have worked fine... I bought three so far... It's MUCH easier to use a harness than to just cut, guess and wire...
