    Immobilizer!!!

Does anyone know where I can find an immobilizer???

My car was stolen with the keys in it! (Dont ask!) When i found it i didnt have any spare keys because I was out of town and then when I had the dealer make me a new key they said that I needed a new immobilizer and immobilizer antenna because the keys wouldnt program and my car wont start. so If anyone could help me it would be most appreciated! PLEASSSSE!!!!!!

Thats SUCH bullshit!, Go to another dealer. You can buy a new key and have the dealer program it. The only thing they need is a password for your ecu which they find in a book based on your car type/year.

i did...sadly this is the second dealer thats told me that and we only have 2 in WI! What is even more screwed up is that they said it happened when i took out my head unit which i know is a bunch of bullshit cuz that has nothing to do with it!!! So it basically looks like im stuck payin $613! this sucks!!! :x

well #1 dont leave your keys in the car, try junk yards etc tell them you need the ecu the immobilizer i think is built in for those years and just swap them at the dealer then tell them to reprogram the keys

so i only need the ecu? The ecu is the little black box inside the dash right???

I find it absolutly bullshit that they can't program it. In reality even if you get the ecu and the immobilizer from the junk yard, the dealer will most likely tell you that they cant program it again. What I think you should do is this. Contact a guy on club3g.com or aim named FlashBlueRS. Tell him about your situation, he is able to completely dissable the immobilizer feature from your ecu. You would need a $90 cable to reprogram your car and I think he charges like $25/50 for the crack. Its your best bet really. That way there is no need to program keys again or worry about the immobilizer.

Actually someone on club3g has posted how to delete the immobilizer using ECUflash... I haven't tried it, but it looks quite simple I'll see if I can find the post.

its not that hard to program your key. i know it has to do with inserting your key and doing on off a certain number of times, then inserting the new one
