    evo brembo brakes

Alright guys i need someones help big time.. I have the 4 evo brembos and i finally got a hold on 20 mm spacers and together the brakes fit beautiful. My problem is that the original wheel studs stick out of the spacer about 3 mm +- and i am stuck with the rim not fitting flush against the spacer only against the original studs.. Normally this wouldnt be the problem as 5 x 114.3 rims that are not universal has holes where the studs would go through but i have universal 5 lug and there is the 5 x 100 holes that are blocking the studs that are too far out from the spacer. IS there anything i can do to resolve this fairly quickly.. any help would be greatly appreciated..

You realize that your wheels are going to stick out alot from the side of you body when you get this completed, right? You're also going to have alot of vibration due to not using hub centric spacers....

Take a few pics of the problem and we'll have a better time helping you out.

I thought about that problem possibly occuring if I went ahead with my install. The only solutions I can see are to get spacers that are a little thicker or to change the wheel studs to shorter ones. Or dare I say... cut down the wheel studs so they are shorter. I would get thicker spacers, just because 20mm spacers are not hub centric. Get thicker ones that are.

    spacers

Thanks for the responses. I tried to get hr hubcentrics 20 mm but no one has them no one. i waited 1 and a half months and still on backorder with est 6 to 8 weeks. I waited 1 and a half months for my kics project 20 mm spacers and they sent the wrong ones with 12 x 1.25 threads so i had to find the correct bolts and go with it because they dont know when they are getting the right ones. Now i have the stud issue which is pissing me off. It sticks out 3 or 4 mm - cutting or shortening these studs will this be safe as the lugs are much further in and there are a lot of threads sticking out. I dont mind the 20 mm sticking out its not horrible but any more will not look good. I am not buying rims right now because i am going turbo and need the money for the install and pipes. What about slightly drilling the holes on the back of the rim in the 5 x 100 side? Thanks

20mm spacers are back ordered across the board, I was looking for some as well a few weeks back.

Dont the hub centric spacers for the RX-8, and Mazda 6 fit our wheels perfect? I believe Cali and I discussed this in the past....I think the back of my BBS has a little crater for the studs to fit in, in case you use spacers and run into this problem.

Cutting would work, but you need to be careful of the threads when you do this...or you can put shorter bolts on....

Matt, check out KICS spacers....they're pretty good, but I think they're more expensive than H&R Trak+ spacers.

    yes

yea the rx8 does but one problem its the same spacer part number that is back ordered for ever. its the same part number for the rx8 and some mazdas as it is for the g. H*R is backordered.. Everyone says the spacers will give vibration but i ride in my friends truck going 100 and his steering wheel is nice and smooth. A friends subaru also 20 mm nice and smooth. A friends truck with 30 or so more than an inch nice and smooth. I goto the tire shops and talk to the people who get those piece of crap custom spacers/adapters that are inch wide and more and no one seems to have a problem. I dont doubt that the vibration may occur but it might not. Either way i want to use the brakes and atleast get a taste of them so i can decide whether they are worth the aggravation of fender flares. Every place that everyone tells me to go is backordered and there are no hubcentric 20mm spacers available for atleast 4 weeks minimum -

** by the way thats wha i got kics spacers.. they look like good quality,

well i got the fronts on with my spacers.. Not bad i had to drill some holes in my rims where the 5 x 100 set was to get them in but so far no vibration problems -- atleast not worse than it already was -- although i am rubbing on turns against the plastic front guards i guess they are called.. They ride is great and the stop is priceless.

Thats not too bad at all...this is what a 38 offset looks like...plus some nice camber to tuck them in tight.

You used spacers in the rear too right??
    <img>

  20. #20

    sup

No just 20 mm in the fronts for now... if i use them in the rear ill rub as im tucked perfectly now... From the back it actually looks like they tires are close to the same distance outwards. Although i am experiencing rubbing on uturns and hard right 90+ degree turns its hitting the inside plastic straight forward.. Ur not rubbing at all right? is any one else getting this??

Overall i love the brakes although i only installed the front because the drums stop pretty good so far. The brakes slow my car down so fast that i keep forgetting i dont need the same force. Ill slow down from like 35 or so mph so fast that i can see the people in the back getting scared.. lol on the highway i can stop on em from 80 pretty hard and no crazzy sounds like my rotor is rolling on the ground or somethings grinding..
