the engine is placed backwards in other words. The exhaust manifold faces the windsheild and the intake manifold faces the front. kinda of a odd set up. Its like the toyota celicas.

it allows for a shorter, straighter exhaust.
this means less weight and more power, also by putting hte turbo and the weight of the manifold on the backside of the engine(closer to the firewall) it brings the weight of the car closer to the center. for better weight distribution
just think, you can have a short ram and CAI at the same time.
