    new "used" rims

There is a 1988 Sigma that has been abandoned. The Wheels are 4-lug alloy wheels with wider tires. They are the stock 15's. If I put them on my 14 inch wheel car, how much will it throw my speedometer off? The stock wheels on my car are severly bent and I can get these wheels for free.

Depends alot on the size of the tires on the rims.

as long as the overall size of the tire doesn't change, you won't have a problem

175/60R15's I think....a bit wider than the 7th gen stock recommendations.

That size, if I'm remembering correctly doesn't exist. At least not on anything other than a donut maybe. At any rate if you step up to a 15" rim, the tire size you'll want is a 195/60 R15. That'll give you very close to the same overall tire size, and minimize the inaccuraccy of the speedo.

When I go back Tuesday (Mitsu gives us Memorial day off and all other federal holidays too) I will look at them again.

Here's a good site to use...

    Tire Size Calculator

It will tell you how much it'll throw off your speedo and deminsions of the two tire sizes and all that...

The total height of the tire and wheel affects the speedo reading. The tire size calculator that OOGalantMan linked is a good reference. 8)

Your stock wheels and tires may be 14's but if the 15's have a tire and wheel height equivalent to the 14 inch tire and wheel height, there should be no affect on your speedo reading since they both have the same rotating distance.

Unless the height difference is extremely different...the speedo reading is only minimal.
