    automatic race shifters

    i know the have the ratchet shifters for muscle type cars.....but are there any for our cars...or maybe can get norcal to produce these for us...i have a book and they arnt expensive at all...range from around 200 ..just curious cuz its about the closest thing to stick..and would go great with a torque converter...

    No, I think he is talking about the B&M and Hurst type shifters. My dad has one in his 64 Chevelle, it works really great..............it has the dead lock mechanism where you can not shift into reverse while driving, thus making it SO much easier to bang gears in an automatic. Good thing that you brought this up.......I always wondered if any imports used these type shifters as well.

    man if that sequential shifter is for an auto, let me know where to get one. that would be awesome in my car

    Im resurrecting this post because there are a whole lot of new members since it was posted and I did my search with no answer except this.


    Can a Hurst shifter be easily modified for the 8G automatic?????

    I think its possible. I know of a few 2g GSX's with BUILT auto trannies and hurst type shifters

    Last time I e-mailed the guy, he had just aquired the service manuals for the 8G and was going over them - I'll try and contact him to see whats up.

    i was looking into this awhile ago when there was a discussion about it on dsmtuners... kind of the reason i still have my auto i hope something will com out of this
