So whats your redline now? Redline is set in the ECU or TCU not sure, did you swap ECUs?
I recently swapped my engine in my 96 G for an engine out of a 95. (i know, should have got a 4g63T) I had blown my engine and was desperate. I noticed earlier this week that with the 95 engine I can rev 650 rpm's higher than i could with the stock engine in it. Has anyone noticed this before?

7g for life!
no, i swapped sensors and parts to make the stock computer work. and i have a 5spd, no tcu
Im not really understanding this statement"I noticed earlier this week that with the 95 engine I can rev 650 rpm's higher than i could with the stock engine in it. "
what do you mean higher?
Not how fast your car goes but how good u drive going fast.

as in, instead of stopping at 6250 rpm it goes close to 7k now at full rev
mine sometimes does it too
nothing special

your redline is in fact limited by the ecu.

Maybe there was an issue with your old motor that would not let you physically allow you to rev past that point.

there is absolutely NO point to revving your engine that high.
it makes no power there,
even with a turbo you won't make power there.
with a cam, you won't effieciently make power there.
6- 6250 is all you need really, and the engine stops pulling at 5700 ish anyways.
keep yoru revs down or you'll prematurely wear your new engine.

well, chances are it was a problem with the old motor. i mean, it did have a bent rod, a broken rod, and a seized piston when it died.
and what makes you think i dont know anything?
i swapped an engine on my own, and have it running. im pretty sure i know enough
i'm just being a dick.
