I personally havent changed one but it cant be that hard. Unbolt the lower ball joint from the knuckle, and unbolt the control arm from the crosss member, and change it.
hey i got a question.... had anyone change the lower control arm for the 01? just had the arm break off....

Its a time consuming repair. For the average DIY'er? I wouldn't recommend it unless you either have plently of tools and time or a friend who knows how to do the repair.Originally Posted by Stewi
thanks for the info you guys....
It is very simple and NOT hard at all. If you have any car smarts at all you will know how to do this. After you unbolt the ball joint the lower control arm has 3 11/16's bolts. Unbolt them, pull the old arm and replace it with the new. I started to do mine today but got the wrong control arm for my car...Grr
No offense, but all of the bolts on Mitsubishis are metric.Originally Posted by wright06jhs
