    A new direction for -G-rim

As some of you know that I garaged my 7g a little after I moved into my house and started tearing down the car for a complete rebuild, restoration, and new setup. My plans were BIG for this car and still are...BUT I have decided to take a different direction and goal with -G-rim.

Basically...I have to live within the means of my income and not only that I have a house now that I want to invest in improvements so its value will be more when its time to sell it. (I don't plan to live in this house forever..I want something bigger eventually). I also have to put my priorities back in line and unfortunately even though I love my car hobby...its just a hobby. I have a g/f that I have been with for over 6 years and I think its time to take the next step in our relationship........yes guys/gals......Marriage. She has stuck with me thick and thin and put up with my BS and has supported my quests and she even bought me -G-rim after she saw how depressed I was when I had to let go of my old 95 7g.

Even through my decision..she still won't let me totally give up on my dream of what I want -G-rim to be, I just have to go a different route. -G-rim is going to take ALOT of time and money, which I already spent already and so far...its not going to be any cheaper. So I decided on a new direction and even though it was be as BIG as I originally planned...I hope to achieve something no 7g has done before, I hope -G-rim will be a Pioneer for something at least. My plans are still going to be hush hush 8) but hopefully I should be done hopefully ALOT sooner with my new direction.

I just have to "grow up" in a way...and think of my, let me correct myself...OUR future. I want to venture and get more into making a company more of reality. I want to eventually build a new and bigger home with more land. I want to pursue to own the car I REALLY want to own...which is a EVO VI. I want to travel the world more. I want to be married..with the lady I truly love and spend my life with and grow old with.

So as you can see..I have to sacrifice something for me to be able to go on with a successful future. I don't know why I am typing a post here on TGC..but in a way, TGC is like a family to me, even though I haven't met 99% of the members here, but being a member since 99, I couldnt help to have that bond.

    Sincerely,
    -Kevin-

good for you man, it's good to have your priorotys in line and the security of your family first.

you will never loose the hobby of toying with cars!

i too am gonna do something drastic to my 7G, something to my knowledge hasn't been done yet! i might start as soon as this winter after i get a new DD

yeah man of course you have to handle your business,

thats what i do, and thats why it took me 5 years to get where i am, not a few months.
I'm sure nothign but good things will come to g-rim and his owner, in due time.

    after all... 7g for life!!!

i coudl never see myself selling my car. of course i could ditch it and pick up and evo, and i know without a doubt i woudl love the evo. but until i can afford both my GS and a well modded evo mr, i'm just sticking with 7g glory.
and of course my pink 95 escort gt hatch ;)

if it ever gets to the point where i have to move on from the gs,
i'll just put it in storage, cause i know 20 years from now i'll wish i never got rid of it.

    good luck kev :smt023

Thanks guys...your replies are what a family member would say. 8)

I love my 7g...and I couldn't part ways with it because it was a gift from my significant other and also I put alot of work into the car. Unfortunately like many things...my hobby is dictated by my income. I am not living paycheck to paycheck..but the money can go somewhere else more important.

Plus I went a little bit too far on spending $$$ on the GVR4 the past several months too and luckily I recognized it quickly. Things could change..but for now I have to do this. My g/f has a little bit over a year till she finishes college for being a Anesthesiologist and that alone would change our annual income significantly.

Anyways..thanks for the support and kind words. I truly do MISS DRIVING -G-rim and hopefully it will be soon.

Completely understandable man. My income right now is extremely low and has put all my plans to a hault until I recover financially. I have so many plans and ideas but nothing can be done without money! haha :(

congrats man. I've always admired your collection and what you have done with all of them over the years. I myself, being in the exact same boat as you (new home owner), have to definately manage the finances a lot more than before. The 8G also has become not necessary with the rest of my collection and will be selling to invest in the other two and take care of some outstanding loans. I too plan on being self-employed one of these days.

Congrats on the decision to get married, and good luck with accomplishing your goals. I am in a similar situation. There are so many things I have planned for the g but I have higher priorities on my list such as getting this house I want built and funding my wedding. So once again congrats and good luck.
