    security system/keyless entry: DE

I just purchased a 2-way alarm/keyless entry/remote start system. i have an 8g DE and i want to know if i have to get anything to make the keyless entry work, like modules on all of the door locks, or will the system just work off of the drivers power lock???

To make the remote start work you're going to need something along the lines of a 556u. You'll also need a spare key to put in that. Since there's a chip in the head of the key. That chip transmits a signal to a receiver around the keycylinder that when the ecu verifies is correct allows the fuel pump to turn on.

If you have a power trunk release, you'll need a relay for that.

The doorlocks, there's nothing special about them. Straight negative triggers for lock and unlock. 99% of alarms on the market will not need anything extra to make them work.

    Any more questions?

i'm not actually doing this myself, so would the shop that's doing the install have the parts on hand that are needed? or would i have to order/supply them with the parts?

would it be difficult to add power trunk release if i don't already have it?

A shop should have all of the needed parts, even the power trunk solenoid you'd need.
