well 1st of all you start off by posting the question in the right section. You have an 8th generation galant if it is a 2000.
2nd you remove all components of your stock air box, including stock intake back to the throttle body.
then you install the new intake. It's pretty straight foward. if you search around you can find a tutorial on here, or you can look for some members ride pics of their engine bays and you will see how the CAI in place and see how it is installed.

    open the hood,
you see that scoop and that huge black box with your air filter in it?
    take all that shit out.

then bolt your new intake up where the old one was.

Dude, you wont learn anything from reading tutorials, if you wanna learn anything, just dive into it head on. I mean sure, a tutorial will show you how to do it, but odds are you will have to use a tutorial the second time you have to do it. I just say dive in, I mean in all honesty, you really have to try to really screw over a car. When/if I use a tutorial, I just use it to check if I put something in properly, or not. Believe it or not, most things when it comes to cars are pretty straightforward.

wait wait wait. what intake did you buy? a quality intake comes with install instructions, thus defeating the purpose of having a tutorial.

take a full ice cube tray and put it on top of the filter

its pretty straight forward no matter which one you got...just take out the complete air assembly

assemble the cai beforehand elbow, short pipe, coupler, mas adapter and unit, coupler, long pipe filter....should be something like that, and there should be a weld on the cai extension which goes to that bolt with the rubber thing where the airbox was

i believe thats all you should have and if you want to make it short ram just dont add the cai extension and put the filter after the mas

also disconnect your battery from the negative terminal for about an hour and let the ecu reset then reconnect it and drive it a while

don't forget to unbolt the transmission when installing this, you need to flip the black/grey switch under there to enable Cold

I'd rather have the knowledge and ability to do it than the money to buy it already done.
